The Yeoman
To protect her secret identity and defend freedom as Marvel Woman, Diane Aprince takes an bare-bottom OTK spanking, gets tied up ...and more.
Story Notes
My research started with the Golden Age comics and 1970s TV show, adding actual 1942 historical reference for architecture, fashions, room interiors and hair styles.
In the 1940s origin, as an 18-year-old raised on an all-female island, she instantly attracted to the injured Steve Trevor. Once in America, she bought the identity of the real Diana Prince to stalk "keep an eye on him". Today, that's called stalking. In this story, she's been Steve's secretary for 2 months. Her work is sloppy, due to her unpredictable Wonder Woman demands.
Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston used bondage imagery as a metaphor to show female superiority. She got knocked out, bound, and spanked a lot in comics and television show so much that one blogger wrote, "She wouldn't get tied up so often if she didn't bring the rope." Never traumatized by these humiliations, she blamed herself for being sloppy then figured out a solution. Then almost immediately put herself in position to get humiliated again.
Steve Trevor's office is loosely based on the inconsistent television show sets and historical interior War Department office photos. Lyle Waggoner's 1970s dry look didn't exist in 1942, so I gave him era-appropriate hairstyles based on Tyrone Power, Clark Gable and Errol Flynn.
Diana used Paradise Island magic to hide her secret identity. This is why Steve never recognized her as Wonder Woman. The glasses and hairstyle didn't fool the TV audience; they certainly wouldn't fool a Navy Intelligence officer.
This story marks the beginning of a consensual BDSM relationship Steve and Diana enjoyed between episodes of the televised series. She's a powerful woman who chose her dominant. This doesn't mean much to Steve. He's in love with Wonder Woman, using Diana as any other homely secretary.
Steve worked directly for General Leslie Groves on the Manhattan Project budget proposals for months of 12-18 hour days. General Groves thought Trevor was just another bean counter until he walked into that meeting well-prepared with a jizz-covered secretary.
